Sometime between the first gingerbread appearing in the supermarket and the first candle being lit on the kitchen table, it begins: that time when everything grows a little quieter. Evenings arrive earlier. Windows glow warmly, like tiny cottages nestled in a forest of fir trees. And somewhere, a cup of tea sits forgotten—gone cold because you lost track of time while gazing out the window. Outside, the scent of pine needles hangs in the air.
It is the small rituals that make these weeks so special. Opening the first little door in the morning. The aroma of cinnamon drifting through the apartment. A package that builds anticipation with every passing day. Things that aren't loud, yet stay with us precisely because of that.
Perhaps that is exactly why we love Advent calendars so much. Not for what’s inside, but because they give us a small reason to pause for a moment each day.
This year, for the first time, Meadory is offering its own Advent calendar. It features 24 small cardboard cottages, each hiding a charm for you to collect day by day. Included are two basic chains and two basic bracelets to attach them to, along with a pair of small pliers and instructions so you can assemble everything yourself. Over the course of 24 days, piece by piece, you create a deeply personal piece of jewelry that stays with you through Christmas—and long after. And on day 24, a surprise awaits that I’m not revealing just yet.
I am producing the calendar in limited quantities to ensure nothing goes to waste. If you’d like to join in, you can pre-order yours by November 23, 2026, to ensure it arrives in time.
After all, perhaps that is what defines this season: not perfection, but the small things we gather together until, in the end, something complete takes shape.
